Water Conservancy Engineering Jet Pumps
Liquid-Liquid and Liquid-Gas Jet Pumps in Water Conservancy Engineering
Due to the different states of the power medium and the suction medium, there are many types of jet pumps, and they also have various names, such as ejector, jet pump, ejector, etc. Its structure is simple, there are no moving parts, its operation safety and reliability are much higher than that of mechanical pumps, and it has a wide range of applications. Unlike mechanical pumps that are driven by electricity, jet pumps are driven by motive fluid and are especially suitable for areas with surplus motive fluid or recyclable fluid power. The application of jet pumps in water conservancy and hydropower projects has both of the above advantages.
The technical water supply of hydroelectric generating units is suitable for the use of jet pumps. It uses high-pressure water in front of the dam as power to extract downstream river water and provide water supply at medium pressure. It does not require other forms of energy conversion, has no moving parts, is highly efficient, and can also ensure the reliability of water supply in the event of a power outage.
Station building water collection well sewage jet pump. Use high-pressure water in front of the dam or volute as power to extract sewage sludge from each collection well. Jet pump is the best emergency drainage equipment in hydropower stations. It does not require electricity, is trouble-free, and is not easily blocked. It can be placed under water in a water collection well and is suitable for harsh sewage conditions. Air jet pump. Under partial load conditions, a draft tube cavity volute will appear in the turbine, resulting in strong pressure fluctuations. Adding air to the draft tube is an effective measure to destroy the volute and eliminate pressure pulsation. Due to the static pressure in the draft tube, natural air replenishment is impossible. At this time, a jet pump must be relied upon for forced air replenishment.
Jet pumps can also be used for air-pumping and water-filling startup of large and medium-sized water pumps and turbines, and for phase-adjusted water pressure of units.
For water filling of ship locks in water conservancy projects, jet pumps can also be used to shorten the water filling time, reduce the discharge flow, reduce energy dissipation and anti-scouring equipment, and are safe, reliable, and require no maintenance.
Jet pumps can also be used to pass fish in water conservancy projects with gates and dams. Because fish migration channels are blocked, fish passage equipment such as fish ladders, fish transport ships, or fish lifts need to be built to replenish water and lure fish. The jet pump is a key equipment for replenishing water and luring fish. It does not damage the fish and is simple and reliable in operation.
