Venturi Nozzle (Hydraulic Mixing Nozzle)
Venturi Nozzle (Hydraulic Mixing Nozzle)
Venturi nozzle is a common name for hydraulic mixing nozzles and mass transfer diffusion nozzles in industrial and water treatment projects. The three refer to the same type of fluid power equipment that uses liquid jets to achieve stirring and mixing. The "Venturi nozzles" in this article all refer to the hydraulic mixing/mass transfer diffusion nozzle products provided by Chengdu Green Water Technology.
Venturi nozzle (hydraulic mixing nozzle) is a fluid mixing device that uses pressure liquid as power. The pressure energy of the high-pressure liquid is converted into kinetic energy at the nozzle and sprayed at high speed. The high-speed jet drives the liquid around the nozzle that is equivalent to 3 to 5 times the flow rate of the sprayed liquid to flow together, and finally achieves uniform mixing in the pool.

Principle of hydraulic mixing
The hydraulic mixing of the Venturi nozzle is based on the principles of jet entrainment and momentum transfer, and is in the same vein as the Venturi effect - utilizing the velocity changes in the contraction-expansion flow channel to achieve energy conversion and fluid ejection.
Mixing process:
1. The high-pressure liquid is pumped into the Venturi nozzle, and the pressure energy at the nozzle is converted into high-speed kinetic energy.
2. The high-speed jet is ejected from the nozzle and entrains the surrounding liquid, driving 3 to 5 times the flow rate of the liquid in the pool to move together.
3. Momentum exchange occurs between the jet and the surrounding liquid, forming a large-scale circulating flow field.
4. The circulating flow field fully mixes the liquid (or liquid-solid mixture) in the pool to achieve uniform mixing.
Dual action of Venturi nozzle
After the hydraulic mixing nozzle is used in the Venturi injector, the remaining pressure at the injector outlet is used for injection, which can simultaneously achieve hydraulic mixing and enhanced gas-liquid mass transfer:
The concentration difference between the mixed liquid at the ejector outlet and the liquid in the pool is used to perform secondary mass transfer to improve the gas-liquid two-phase mass transfer efficiency.
The remaining pressure head is used to complete the process of mixing the liquid in the pool evenly without additional power.
Core advantages
It is driven by pure fluid power and has no wearing parts such as bearings and seals, so the failure rate is extremely low.
The flow channel is smooth, almost no daily maintenance is required, and the maintenance cost is extremely low.
It can be flexibly arranged according to the pool type and liquid level depth to adapt to pools of various sizes.
It is suitable for situations where it is difficult for traditional mechanical agitators to operate stably, such as corrosive environments, radiation hazards, and deep liquid levels.

FAQ
What is the difference between a Venturi nozzle and a hydraulic mixing nozzle?
In engineering applications, Venturi nozzles usually refer to hydraulic mixing nozzles. Because its nozzle structure is based on the Venturi effect and uses jet entrainment to achieve mixing, it is called a Venturi nozzle.
How does a Venturi nozzle achieve hydraulic mixing?
The high-pressure liquid accelerates through the nozzle to form a high-speed jet, entraining 3 to 5 times the flow rate of liquid around it to flow together, forming a circulating flow field in the pool through momentum exchange, and achieving uniform mixing without mechanical parts.
What are the advantages of a Venturi nozzle over a mechanical stirrer?
It has no moving parts, no scaling and clogging, extremely low maintenance costs, and flexible layout. It is especially suitable for situations with corrosive or radiation hazards or deep liquid levels. It is an irreplaceable choice for traditional mechanical agitators.
